1. Introduction to Herbs and their Use : 5 sessions
We will be looking at traditional Herbal First Aid remedies and herbs to include in our own medicine chest. We will also learn about the herbs traditionally used as part of a detox and learn to identify the weeds that heal. There will also be some practical sessions on making creams, massage oils and tea. We will also look at herbs suitable to plant in a garden, window box and allotment.
Students receive a "goodie bag" of seeds to take away and grow at home.
Stage 1 March – Mondays 7th, 14th, 21st 28th and the 4th April between 7.30-9.30 pm at Albion clinic. Price £60.
2. Introduction to Herbs and their Use - stage 2 : 5 sessions
(A short course for those with some knowledge of herbal medicine)
The course is for those with some, or little, experience in using Herbal Medicine. On this course you will learn about herbs which have traditionally been used to treat various ailments. The herbs can be used as an alternative to over-the-counter pharmaceutical preparations to treat a wide range of common ailments.
We will also do field trips to Queen’s Park where we will learn how to recognize plants which heal.
There will also be some practical sessions on making creams, massage oils and tea.
Stage 2 June will start at 11am-1pm at queens Park wild life garden Saturday 25th June. The other classes will be on Tuesdays 28th June, and the 5th, 12th and 19th, July from 7.30 - 9.30 on evenings at Albion clinic. Price £60
3. Simple Herbal Remedies for Children.
This evening course is for those who have children and would like to use herbal remedies for their family’s health. Date TBC.
4. Medicine Making
Learn about the weeds that heal and make your own remedies.
This will be a fun practical day covering harvesting plants, making tinctures, poultices, teas, syrups, creams, lozenges, bath salts, tooth paste ointments, and so much more. You will go home with over £20 worth of products. So book early and learn how to heal yourself and make your own medicines.
July - Sunday 17th from 10am - 3.30pm at the Albion Clinic. Price £60. (Vegetarian lunch included).
